 re the event.\nAbstract:\nThe Weckhuysen group has been active for many ye
 ars in the design\, synthesis\, characterization and application of cataly
 tic solids for the conversion of fossil (crude oil &amp\; natural gas) and
  renewable feedstock (biomass and municipal waste) into transportation fue
 ls\, chemicals and materials. More recently\, research is devoted to the c
 atalytic activation of CO₂ via thermal and electrocatalytic pathways and
  the photocatalytic and electrocatalytic splitting of water into hydrogen 
 and oxygen\, as well as the chemical recycling of plastics.\nThe group is 
 internationally known for the development of in-situ and operando spectros
 copy and microscopy for studying catalytic solids under realistic conditio
 ns. This approach has provided unique insights in the working and deactiva
 tion mechanisms of catalytic processes\, as well as in the internal archit
 ecture of solid catalysts.\n&nbsp\;\nThe link to the video conference can
